The Drake

The Drake is an invitingly comfortable room with a rosewood queen-size sleigh bed, bedside lamps, Plasma TV and DVD Player, ceiling fan and craftsman-style leather chairs in the sitting area that create a cozy, intimate environment. The ensuite private bath includes a claw-foot tub/shower, craftsman sink, soft fluffy towels, robes, hairdryer and high-quality soaps and toiletries. The Drake overlooks the quiet historic Bend neighborhood.

Our Drake Room is named after Drake Park, located across the street from the Lara House Bed and Breakfast. Alexander Drake was the founder of Bend and the Deschutes Water, Light and Power Company. In 1910, the Deschutes Water, Light and Power Company built a dam, creating Mirror Pond; the dam provided Bend’s first electricity. Today, Drake Park is a popular downtown community gathering-place and hosts many events, including the Old Fashioned July 4th Celebration. The Lara House Bed and Breakfast is the oldest home in the Drake Park Neighborhood Historic District.
