There are many ways to enjoy the crisp autumn days of October in Bend Oregon
One of our favorites is to take a drive heading down the McKenzie Highway before it closes in November. Some amazing stops are:
- Proxy Falls, which is an easy 2-mile hike round trip that offers a spectacular waterfall view!
- Linton Lake, is a 4.3-mile trail that goes through lava fields and the forest.
- The Dee Wright Observatory is built of lava rock and offers amazing views of the Cascade Mountain range.
And of course, the fall beers are now available at the local breweries. It is easy to find a great beer to sooth your insides from a brisk adventure around Bend. One of our favorites is the new Hopzeit Autumn IPA, which can be found at the Deschutes Public House. Most of the local breweries in Bend are also featuring their pumpkin beers, which are always good to sample on a crisp day.
If beer is not your thing, then make a stop at our favorite wine shop, The Good Drop Wine Shoppe. Sarah and Becky will be happy to assist you in selecting a great wine to bring home to help you relax through the autumn nights.
